The primary responsibility of this position is to control the inventory level of parts and supplies in the Transportation.
Other duties may be assigned.
Determine required inventory level for all parts and supplies.
Determine re-order levels for all parts and supplies.
Maintain current vendor and pricing information for all parts and supplies.
Calculate and execute purchase requirements on a weekly basis.
Account for all parts and supplies purchased and distributed on an ongoing basis.
Provide periodic reports to management that summarize the value of all parts and supplies purchased, distributed and currently in inventory.
Adhere to all safety policies, procedures and best practices while performing tasks in a manner that promotes safety at all times.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
This position has a flexible schedule.
This position requires evening shifts.
Must meet Federal Department of Transportation requirements for annual inspector qualifications and brake inspectors as set forth in CFR Title 49 Section 369.19 and section 396.25 respectively
Along with the ability to obtain the following within 12 months of hire date.
q New York State Inspection License for groups 1 and 2
q Class “B” CDL
q ASE Medium Heavy Truck Certification in PMI, Brakes
q EPA Section 609 Motor Vehicle Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school, with a minimum of 2 years experience.
Or five years on the job experience and training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
